PAT writes to WTO about Dr Tauqir Shah's role in Model Town Lahore massacre Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) writes to WTO about Dr Tauqir Shah's role in Model Town Lahore massacre. Dr Tauqir Shah has been appointed as ambassador of Pakistan to the World Trade Organization. We write to apprise you of his unsuitability and unfortunate background of his appointment to WTO. On the 17th of June 2014 the government sent the police to carry out an armed operation at the head office of Minhaj-ul-Quran International (MQI) and the residence of Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri in Lahore, which continued for approximately fifteen hours.

PAT to relaunch protest campaign on 17th LAHORE: In a bid to seek justice in the Model Town case, the Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) is going to re-launch its protest campaign against the PML-N government. A decision taken a couple of days ago was announced here on Tuesday. The first rally in this respect will be held in Lahore on Jan 17 where schedule for the next phase will be announced. Interestingly, the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI), a partner of the PAT in the Islamabad sit-it, is also going to announce on Jan 18 the next phase of its protest to seek a fair probe into alleged rigging in the 2013 general elections.

Elimination of terrorism not possible until foreign funding stops: Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri PAT chief Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has made it clear that unless foreign funding is banned, it will not be possible to eliminate terrorism. He said that foreign funding to seminaries reflects criminal negligence of successive governments that failed to discharge their responsibility for reasons of expediency and narrow interests. He said that all governments of past are equally responsible for mushroom growth of extremism and radicalism in the country.

PAT to resume protest on Jan 17 LAHORE: The Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) on Tuesday announced to resume its country-wide protest on January 17 for not being given justice pertaining to the Model Town case. First demonstration would be staged in Lahore whereas a signature campaign against the appointment of Tauqeer Shah as ambassador World Trade Organization (WTO) will also be initiated.

Government deceiving people on issue of terrorism: Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri PAT chief Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that the government is deceiving people on the issue of terrorism. He said that funds have continued to be received from abroad in the name of elimination of terrorism and the past governments were also involved in this practice. He said that the French President and the whole cabinet led a rally of four million people against terrorism, asking when the honour of Pakistan’s Prime Minister will wake. He said why did the Prime Minister not appeal to the nation to take to the streets after Peshawar tragedy and why did he not invite the heads of Muslim countries?

Peace moot endorses operation against militants: Dr Raheeq Abbasi PAT central president Dr Raheeq Abbasi said that concept of ‘Jihad’ had been wrongly interpreted and the misguided elements were following a mindset, which had weakened the roots of the country, besides bringing a bad name to Islam and Pakistan. PAT welcomes amendments PAKISTAN Awami Tehreek (PAT) President Dr Raheeq Abbasi welcomed the 21st constitutional amendment for establishing the military courts for speedy trial of terrorists and reminded that Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri was the first proponent of military courts in his 14-point agenda for eradication of extremism. Talking to the media on Tuesday, he said military courts were the need of the hour, adding if anti-terrorism courts had performed judiciously and without any political vendetta, the military courts would have not been required.

PAT starts working on anti-terrorism subject syllabus Islamabad - Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) has constituted a committee that has started preparing syllabus on anti-terrorism subject. PAT Chairman Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri has constituted a 5-member committee under Rahiq Abbasi which will work out recommendations on syllabus for the general public, students of colleges and universities, armed forces, teachers, religious scholars and media within 15 days.

Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri presents 14-point anti-terror strategy The Chairman of Pakistan Awami Tehreek Dr Tahirul Qadri has written a letter to the Chief of the Army Staff, the Director General of Inter-Services Intelligence, the DG Military Intelligence, Joint Chief of the Staff Committee, the President of Pakistan, Prime Minister, all the chief ministers, governors, foreign ministry and interior ministry suggesting measures for the elimination and control of terrorism. The Letter has been released by PAT Central President Dr Raheeq Ahmad Abbasi. PAT takes to the road against terrorism LAHORE: The Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) on Sunday held rallies in 60 towns across the country against the Peshawar tragedy. In Lahore, participants of the rally marched from Regal Chowk to Charing Cross on The Mall and shouted slogans against terrorists. The rally was addressed by PAT chief Dr Tahirul Qadri through a video link from the US. He said intellectual supporters of terrorists must decide whether they were with the nation or militants.
