Pakistan Today: New JIT for Minhaj killings yet PAT not satisfied After much impediments and hullabaloos over formation of a second Joint Investigation Team (JIT) based on the FIR lodged by Minhajul Quran (MuQ) on August 28, the Punjab government has finally formed a new investigation team. However, before this team starts work on Wednesday, the Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) has rejected it. The new five-member JIT will be headed by Quetta CCPO Abdul Razzaq Cheema, AIG Discipline at CPO SSP Shehzad Akbar, CIA DSP Khalid Abubakar and one official each from the Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) and Intelligence Bureau (IB).

The News: Tahirul Qadri wants Army Chief’s role in Model Town case LONDON: Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) leader Dr Tahirul Qadri Tuesday said the Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif should play his role in the Model Town case. “We are not demanding anything that can be labeled as undemocratic; we want justice,” said Tahirul Qadri while talking to media representatives here. He said his party did not accept the inclusion of the Punjab policemen in the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) tasked to probe the Model Town tragedy. Earlier, the government had announced a five-member team to investigate the Model Town incident.

Pakistan Today: Govt brewed PTV attack to concoct cases against me: Qadri Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Chairman Dr Tahirul Qadri said Monday that the attack on PTV and Parliament House was the government’s manoeuvring to build phony cases against him while adding that no power on earth could stop him from returning to Pakistan on November 20. The PAT leadership has, however, denied receiving any invitation for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI’s) rally on November 30, and stated that the party leadership still has to decide whether it will attend the anti-government rally of its ‘cousins’ or not.

Dr Tahi rul Qadri rejects JIT on Model Town tragedy LAHORE: Rejecting the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) on Model town tragedy, Pakistan Awami Tehreek chief Dr Tahirul Qadri said he will not accept any inquiry til the resignation of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif. Speaking through video link, the cleric said:“We reject join investigation team, Nawaz Sharif should have become head of JIT if he had to form such a team, why did you waste five months if you were to form this JIT”.
