Model Town incident: Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri rejects new JIT of Punjab govt

Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Dr Tahirul Qadri has rejected the newly formed Joint Investigation Team (JIT) of Punjab government.

Tahirul Qadri expressed his concerns over the investigation team comprising of six members till resignation of Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif. He termed it as ‘shameful move’ by the Punjab government.

PAT chief was talking to reporters in Lahore, the provincial capital of Punjab, on Friday via video link to clear his political party’s stance about developments in investigation of Model Town incident.

He reiterated that newly formed JIT comprises six members which is an unacceptable move by the government against Model Town incident.

Qadri said that there is no difference between the old seven-member investigation committee and new JIT out of 5 are Punjab Police officials.
