May 11 protests to herald revolution: Dr Qadri

LAHORE: Patron-in-chief of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri said May 11 will turn out to be an important milestone, which will lead to the irreversible final round to make the revolution a reality.

Addressing the PAT’s Workers Convention in Lahore through video link from Canada, the Pakistan Awami Tehreek founder asserted his party supports peaceful protest, however, he vowed that no negotiations or deal will take place, this time round, with anyone in the final round of his revolutionary movement.

He furthermore remarked that Long March in the beginning of this year was ‘azan’ of the revolution and May 11 will mark the ‘iqamat’ that will result in the alignment for the revolution.

The prolific writer, renowned for his over 1000 books on diverse topics, lashed out at the government for its weak performance during the first year in power, claiming that no change is possible in the country under the umbrella of the current system.

Dr. Qadri directed his party activists to make all out preparations for the protest on May 11, when the government will be celebrating the completion of first year in power, maintaining that the protests starting from Long March will end up at the advent of revolution. –SAMAA
