Non-extension of military courts to benefit terrorists: PAT

A meeting of PAT Advisory Council was held at the central secretariat with senior leader Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri in the chair. The meeting expressed its grave concern on the delaying tactics the government is using to stall the legislative work for the military courts to remain in operation and agreed that this attitude will help terrorists escape justice. They said that the successes achieved on the anti-terror front by virtue of cooperation between civil and military institutions run the risk of unraveling. It was also agreed that the government has done an incalculable damage to the war on terrorism by not implementing the National Action Plan in letter and spirit. The real face of the government can be seen in the Justice Faez Is report on the Quetta carnage.

Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, Rafique Najam, Tanvir Khan, Brig (r ) Muhammad Iqbal, Ahmad Nawaz Anjum, Sajid Bhatti, Jawad Hamid, Ms. Farah Naz, GM Malik, Noorullah Siddiqui, Mazhar Alvi, Irfan Yousaf and Allama Farhat Hussain Shah spoke on the occasion.

Addressing the meeting, Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri said that the PAT lawyers have presented all the proofs that there were in the antiterrorism court. He said that it is our prayer to the court to call in the main accused of the Model Town tragedy that includes the ruling brothers, federal ministers and IGP. He said that unless the powerful are punished for their wrongs, the weaker sections of society will continue to be oppressed. He said that 56 of our witnesses have recorded their statements of evidence in the court besides submission of all video and other record.

Dr Hassan said that the central characters of the Panama leaks can throw light in the eyes of the people in the matters related to Panama but they cannot hoodwink people about Model Town carnage. He said that the families of martyrs of Model Town are waiting for justice for last 27 months.

In a resolution adopted in the meeting, the hike in prices of POL products was severely criticized as being unjustified and its withdrawal was demanded. The rulers’ role in the Panama case investigation was also condemned. The PAT leaders agreed that there is no money trail that connects the rulers with ownership of these flats.

Khurram Nawaz Gandapur said that Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri had stated nine months ago that London flats were bought with the money of kickbacks and commissions and all this money was laundered abroad, adding that Ishaq Dar’s confession statement is on record in this regard.
