Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri holds consultations with lawyers on Model Town case

PAT Chairman Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri held a long consultation with his lawyers’ panel dealing with the Model Town case and got briefing from them about the private complaint filed in the case. He said that the whole nation saw the killing of the workers on their TV screens, what proofs do the institutions of justice need? He said that the government and its institutions are shielding those responsible for Model Town tragedy. He said that none of the accused nominated in the Model Town case was asked a question nor has any progress taken place in regard to provision of justice. He said that we would adopt every path of struggle to get justice in the Model Town case.

Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said that he has given strict instructions to the workers to stay patient and not to take law in their hands. He, however, asked rulers not to test their patience anymore. He said that lack of justice in the Model Town case is increasing anxiety among our workers. He said that we want to see those responsible for the Model Town tragedy in the dock. He said that the first round of Qisas movement was a warm-up, adding that the preparation for the second round is complete, whose date will be announced at an appropriate time.

The PAT Chairman said that he has advised the lawyers to take recourse to the Lahore High Court in order to make the judicial commission report part of the private complaint. The meeting was attended by Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, Rai Bashir Advocate, Mian Faiz Advocate, Ishtiaq Ch Advocate, Syed Altaf Shah, Naeem-ud-Din Chaudhry, Muhammad Nasir Advocate, Jawad Hamid, Rai Usman and other senior leaders.

The PAT lawyers moved a petition in the anti-terrorism court to make the judicial commission report part of the private complaint but it was rejected. They have now decided to move the Lahore High Court against the decision of the anti-terrorism court. Naeem-ud-Din Ch Advocate, Ishtiaq Ch Advocate, Ishtiaq Hussain Mamka Advocate, and Mustaghes Jawad Hamid appeared in the court and told the judge that they are going to move the LHC to make the judicial commission report part of the private complaint on which the court adjourned the case for October 14.
