Indian atrocities in Kashmir a threat to regional peace: Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri

PAT Chairman Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has termed the killing of innocent Kashmiris as violation of human rights and international law. He said that the words cannot be enough to adequately condemn the Indian barbarism. He said that this practice of using violence to suppress innocent people should be stopped forthwith, adding that this new wave of terrorism has exposed the region to new threats and uncertainties. He said that the Pakistani PM who has personal friendship with the Indian counterpart should ask him as to why innocent Kashmiris are being massacred.

Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri expressed these views while talking to senior PAT leaders here at his residence. He said that there is no Kashmir or foreign policy of the present rulers. He said that personal, business interests have taken the place of national interests. He said that corrupt, weak and incompetent leadership has not been able to protect the interests of Pakistan in the region. He said that the people of Kashmir are demanding their internationally sanctioned right to self-determination through peaceful means. He reminded that who knows more than India that the Kashmir dispute cannot be resolved on the basis of barrel of gun. He added in the same breath that had this been possible, it could have been resolved by now.

According to the PAT Secretary Information, Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri will address an important press conference on July 12 at 4:00 pm at the central secretariat of the party.

Meanwhile, the PAT Chairman will also hold a consultative meeting with the Opposition parties on July 31 in which he would evolve a consensus on the Model Town tragedy, Panama leaks and other issues of national importance. He has constituted a committee under the leadership of PAT Secretary General Khurram Nawaz Gandapur to extend invitations to all political parties for participation in the consultative meeting. The process of invitation has got underway.
