Army Chief’s step of accountability of army officers welcomed: Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri

PAT Chairman Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that accountability of the army officers is a courageous step of the Army Chief. He said that the scope of accountability should now extend to every institution and personality. He said that the time has come to widen the net to capture the big fish sitting in the top echelon of power. He said that the proofs of mega corruption are spread from Lahore to Panama, adding that only courageous action is required.

Dr Qadri expressed these views while talking to the members of Central Working Council of PAT through video link. He said that the NAB should also be held accountable for its refusal to take action on 150 mega scandals. He said that plea bargain is a form of economic terrorism, which should be eliminated forthwith. He said that each and every penny should be retrieved from looters with fine. He said that the files of four provincial public accounts committees are full of corruption cases of senior bureaucrats and strict action should be taken against them in the light of record of these committees.

The PAT Chairman said that politics has become the means of getting power. He said that different political parties and groups have taken the shape of the mafia. Those having black money spend whole-heartedly on their election campaigns to bring them into power and then get the return when the time comes. He said that the time has come that the nexus between terrorism, corruption and politics should be broken with full might. Otherwise, neither will Operation Zarb-e-Azb be result-oriented nor will the dream of national stability be realized.
