Demonstrations held in Vehari, Rahim Yar Khan & Layyah to protest JIT report & reinstatement of Rana Sanaullah

Demonstrations were held before the press clubs under the banner of PAT Vehari, Rahim Yar Khan and Layyah to protest fake JIT report and the induction of Rana Sanaullah into cabinet. The protesters chanted slogans against the government for its role in hindering the dispensation of justice in the Model Town case. Chaudhry Fayyaz Warraich, Muhammad Tahir Faridi, and Chaudhry Qamar Abbas led the demonstrations in Vehari, Rahim Yar Khan and Layyah.

Addressing the demonstration in Vehari, Ch. Fayyaz Warraich said that 14 workers were martyred and around 100 people were injured on the unfortunate day of June 17, 2014. He said that the JIT report has unmasked the faces of the so-called rulers, adding that the system of oppression will soon be dismantled. He said that the rulers repeated the Model Town tragedy by perpetrating the Daska tragedy. He said that unless their hands are stopped, they can go to any limit. He said that as long as these rulers are in power, it is futile to hope for administration of justice.

Muhammad Tahir Faridi, while addressing a demonstration in Rahim Yar Khan, said that the JIT report is one-sided and based on lie and misrepresentation of facts. He said that the wealthy rulers have become a hurdle in the way of justice, adding that the fundamental rights of the citizens are being usurped. He said that the Chief Minister has torn the democratic norms into pieces by including Rana Sanaullah, the killer of Model Town tragedy, into his cabinet.

Chaudhry Qamar Abbas said in his speech that when Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri raised the banner of justice and rights of the poor, the power drunk rulers turned against him and shed blood of innocent people. He said that unless an impartial JIT consisting of officers of impeccable integrity is constituted with concurrence of the families of martyrs, the ends of justice will not be met.
