The birth of the Holy Prophet (SAW) is the cause of eternal happiness and blessing for the whole Muslim community and a source of ridding oneself of sufferings and grief. His remembrance in general and recitation of the Durood-o-Salam on him in particular is the only way to get the blessings of the Prophet (SAW). At a time when the country has been confronted with menace of terrorism, there is all the more need to make a supplication to the court of holy Prophet (SAW) to enable us to rid of challenges that threaten our existence.

The Lahore chapter of MQI has started a campaign for recitation of Durood sharif to the tune of one billion, which along with Durood recited the world over including at Gosh-a-Durood will be presented in the honour of the holy Prophet (SAW) at International Mawlid-un-Nabi Conference being held under the banner of MQI on January 3, 2015.

These views were expressed by President of MQI Lahore chapter Irshad Ahmad Tahir while addressing a meeting held in connection with Milad campaign. Speaking on the occasion, Hafiz Ghulam Farid said that the grief over the Peshawar tragedy is the shared grief of the whole nation. He said that the whole nation would have to make collective supplication to Allah Almighty and the holy Prophet (SAW) so that such horrendous incidents do not happen again.
