PAT condemns killing of polio workers in Quetta

PAT President Punjab Basharat Aziz Jaspal and General Secretary Fayyaz Warraich have strongly condemned the killing of polio workers in Quetta. They said that killing of four civilians reflects incompetence of federal and provincial governments. He said that attack on polio workers is an attack on the upcoming generations, adding that those doing these evil things are enemies of people and terrorists and should be dealt with an iron hand.

The PAT leaders said that the rulers have failed miserably in maintaining law and order in the country. They said that Pakistan is among few countries in the world where polio virus remains alive and kicking. They said that as a result of the country’s failure to eliminate polio from its midst, travel restrictions have been imposed on Pakistani citizens traveling to other countries. They said that the rulers are responsible for this ignominy to the country because they failed to bring the attackers to justice. They said that the government has not worked out a system to ensure hassle-free and efficient administration of polio drops.

Expressing serious concern and grief on en mass sale of 24 girls in return for loan, the PAT leaders said that had there been justice in the country, such heart-rending incidents could not have occurred. They also demanded that those involved in this horrible incident should be meted out exemplary punishment.
